The latest installment in the Final Destination series, titled Bloodlines, has transitioned from theatres to digital platforms. While the film continues its theatrical run across Indian cities, its online release is drawing mixed reactions due to the pricing structure.
Final Destination: Bloodlines, certified A, is now available on Amazon Prime Video in its original English version. However, the dubbed Telugu and other regional versions have premiered exclusively on BookMyShow Stream at a pay-per-view price of Rs 499.
The OTT launch comes shortly after the film's theatrical success in India, where it was released in multiple languages and performed well at the box office, particularly among long-time fans of the horror series.
Despite being available online, the high streaming fee has prompted many viewers to reconsider their options. Several are opting for the theatrical version, which remains available in many multiplexes at a comparatively lower ticket cost.
Industry observers suggest that the decision to set a premium price point on OTT could impact early digital viewership, especially among subscribers accustomed to bundled content. Many may wait until the film is included in a subscription catalog.
The film, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, features Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, and Richard Harmon. It follows the established tone of the franchise, offering suspenseful plot progressions and fatalistic story arcs that fans have come to expect.
